Dukhan Field
Discovered around 1940, onshore Qatar, the main onshore field of the country.
Overview
Dukhan stretches along the western coast of the Qatar peninsula. Its first well struck oil around 1940, but the Second World War delayed exports until 1949. It remains the backbone of Qatari onshore crude production, while gas from the offshore North Field dominates the national economy.
