Abqaiq Field
Discovered 1940, onshore Saudi Arabia, a supergiant that peaked above 1 million barrels per day.
Overview
Abqaiq production built the early story of Saudi oil with remarkable well productivity. Its processing complex, the largest crude stabilization plant on Earth, was attacked by drones in September 2019, briefly cutting about half of Saudi output. The field now flows at a fraction of its peak.
