Overview
Mero lies in ultra deep water in the Santos Basin beneath a thick salt layer. The Libra block was auctioned in 2013 under the first Brazilian production sharing contract, with Petrobras as operator. Several large floating production units have started up since 2022, making it a pillar of pre-salt growth.
