Hugoton Field
Discovered 1919, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas, one of the largest gas fields in North America.
Overview
The Hugoton Panhandle complex stretches hundreds of miles and supplied midcontinent markets for a century. Declining pressure ended production in the 2010s. Helium from associated gas built the federal helium reserve at Amarillo.
